What a turnout in the Open Day – students got more information about the services provided to them by the Innovation Centre

UIC open day.

Open Day was held at the Innovation Centre as part of the Pohjat event – Entrepreneurship Week of Northern Ostrobothnia. In addition, the event Hurmos was running at the same time at the University of Oulu. Hurmos is the opening event of the academic year shared by the universities of Oulu. This is why the corridors of the university were filled with students, and several of them also visited the Innovation Centre.

On the spot, you could sip a cup of coffee and participate in the exciting Inno quiz. The purpose of the quiz was to provide students with more information about what kind of services the Innovation Centre offers them. These include:

  • Promoting student entrepreneurship by offering various courses, workshops, competitions and events related to entrepreneurship and commercialisation of ideas in cooperation with Oulu University of Applied Sciences.

  • Providing entrepreneurial advice and helping to develop and fund students’ business ideas.

Ville Saarenpää, a Project Specialist responsible for student-related entrepreneurship issues at the Innovation Centre, was organising the event and was pleased with it.

“The event was a great success! I guess we’ll have to do it again sometime,” Saarenpää says.
