The Innovation Centre's summer interns have been selected — meet our holiday team!

Previously on InnoBlog, we've got to know the Innovation Centre team. This time, we're proud to introduce our summer staff, who will be supporting us with their easy-going, playful attitude during the holidays! So, if you have any questions about commercialisation of research results, intellectual property rights or even footballs and treats, don't worry! These guys will give you advice that you can interpret as you see fit!

Lumi

Lumi the cat standing on a log.

Lumi is our summer team’s leader, because she is basically born to boss others around, and she won’t accept any other job. Lumi is a curious adventurer who likes to wander in the woods — and certainly in the Innovation Centre's new office. Alongside bossing around, Lumi plans to spend her summer job birdwatching and taking creative naps.

Lumi's favourite innovation: a harness that allows her to wander in nature.

Tipu

Tipu the dog lying on the bed.

At the Innovation Centre, someone has to make sure that new ideas don't get out of hand. That job falls to Tipu, who is skeptical about anything new. Despite his cautious nature, Tipu is also the odd one out, changing her mind one way or the other in an instant. Tipu's work motivation is heavily dependent on treats, and without them nothing happens. Lying in an office must be the perfect summer job for her, because Tipu is afraid of flies.

Tipu's favourite innovations: cheese and hairdryer

Elmo and Manu

Elmo (left) and Manu do everything together, both at work and in their free time. Elmo is Manu's boss — a true micromanaging pro who keeps tabs on what Manu is up to.

Manu doesn't mind having a sharp-eyed boss, but at work he's mainly focused on his lunch hour. Manu loves food and can be motivated to do almost anything with it.

Elmo's favourite innovation: an imaginary Manu monitor that notifies him if Manu gets a treat or does something fun.

Manu's favourite innovation: a treat vending machine

Manu and Kaapo

Manu (right) and Kaapo work together at the Innovation Centre. Headstrong Manu is the senior member of the team, whose favorite thing to do, both at work and in his free time, is eating. Manu is well suited to a wide range of tasks, as long as they don't involve brushing his teeth or fur.

Kaapo has learned his life lessons from Manu. Like Tipu, he is a bit skeptical but has a very kind personality. Kaapo is hoping for a summer job that will involve swimming and catching snowballs.

Manu's favourite innovation: sausage

Kaapo's favourite innovation: ball

Miina

Miina is the other senior in the group — a cranky old lady who knows how to keep things under control with her solid life experience. Miina can handle all kinds of tasks, as long as she doesn’t have to wear her rainwear as a work uniform — and she gets paid in treats!

Miina's favourite innovation: a plush ball

During the summer holidays, we'll confidently leave the work of the Innovation Centre in the paws of this team. These guys work at an animalistic pace to make sure that no ball is left unfetched, and no treat is left uneaten!
